New Years is the favorite holiday of most Russians. Are you interested in Russian culture? Do you love poetry, nostalgic music (“90% of Russian culture is nostalgia” -My Russian-speaking Ukrainian friend, who should not be taken as a legitimate source on Russian culture), literature, hubristic duels, fascinating history, warm friendly people (albeit in a cold climate), great foreign movies, and large/bustling or beautiful cities (Moscow/St. Petersburg)? Then pick up some Russian in 2012! Still unsure? There are a lot of great blogs about Russia/Russian language, search around a bit and see if this is a commitment that you want to take!

Hello David! My name is Ivan. I’m a 19-year old guy from Ukraine who speaks Russian and Ukrainian fluently. Hopefully, I’m not bad at English, because I’ve been actively studying this language for about a year and a half on my own (I used to learn it at school but I guess those classes didn’t pan out). So that’s why I made a decision to master English at all costs. I’ve completed the Effortless English system and I find it fascinating. It’s really hard to say what level of proficiency in English I’ve got at this point. Anyway, I’m looking for someone who could help me reinforce my knowledge and get more fluent. I was wondering if you’d be interested in exchanging thoughts and ideas with me. I’ve seen your videos on Youtube and I have to admit that you speak quite decent Russian. I’d help with Russian if you’re willing to use it. It goes without saying that I share your passion and motivation for learning foreign languages. I haven’t found many dedicated language learners and it’s really great to see that you’re one of them. I also have a basic knowledge of French and I’m eager to keep practicing it as well. I’m looking forward to hearing from you. A bientôt!
P.S. Here’s my e-mail (just in case): ivan_h2so4@mail.ru
I’ll try to keep contact, but since I’m in medical school, I’m super busy at the moment. Best of luck to you in all of your studies!
Thanks for the response to my message. I perfectly understand your situation, because I’ve recently been extremely busy too. Just let me know when you get a little bit of free time. I’d really appreciate your help. Take care!
